Very rare original aquatint of The Cemetery Gate St Augustine's Monastery at Canterbury. Drawn and etched by Paul Sandby R.A (1731-1809).

This picture dated 1782 was published in 1789 by Sandby it was one of three aquatints of Canterbury produced, the other two were exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1786.

Paul Sandby and his older brother Thomas were founder members of the Royal Academy in 1768. The picture has original hand colouring.
